Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is a nonprofit educational organization that prepares students for careers in business and related fields through leadership development and competitive events. Alhambra High School’s FBLA chapter competed at the FBLA Section Leadership Conference on Feb. 7, where students earned multiple top-10 finishes across a variety of business categories.
AHS students earning first-place finishes included junior Wilson Cadbury in Personal Finance and sophomore Jennifer Ly in Intro to Business Communication. Second-place honors went to junior Andy Lei in Personal Finance. Third-place finishers included senior Alvin Zhang in Real Estate, senior Cody Duan in Computer Applications, junior Ann Vo in Public Speaking and Zhang in Economics. Several students also placed in fourth through 10th place events, including competitions in Accounting, Agribusiness, Business Communication, Cybersecurity, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality and Event Management, International Business, Marketing and Sports and Entertainment Management. As a team, AHS FBLA earned sixth place in Sweepstakes, with multiple students advancing to state competition.
At the State Leadership Conference, senior Zihan Lin placed eighth in Social Media Strategies. Cadbury earned fifth place in Personal Finance and seventh place in Computer Problem Solving. Ly placed third in Intro to Business Procedures and first in Intro to Business Communication, qualifying for national competition in both events. These accomplishments reflect the dedication and preparation of AHS FBLA students while highlighting opportunities that career-focused organizations provide for leadership development, professional growth and competition beyond the classroom.
