1. What inspired you to first want to join track and field and continue it?
I just walked [onto] the field and Coach De Santis pointed at me and said I looked like a shot-put and discus thrower and ever since then I [have] loved it.

2. How has being captain influenced you?
Being captain has impacted my life a lot because I have learned to have leadership skills and I learned how to manage my time around other people’s schedules.

3. What did you enjoy most about being part of the team?
I liked how I had to coach some of my [fellow] athletes and just make more friends. I enjoyed coaching the athletes because I know they have the potential to be an all-star.

4. What are you going to miss when you graduate?
I am going to miss my sports because that’s what I looked forward to every day of my life. I [felt] it kept me alive [because] it was a part of me. [Although] I want to continue in track and field and water polo [in community college], I know it will be hard for me because I have to work around [the team’s sports] schedule and mine.

5. Is there any advice you would like to give underclassmen athletes?
Do not think you can not accomplish your goals or dreams in life because you really can do anything you want if you set your mind to it.
