On Sept. 2, the varsity football team defeated Mountain View with a spectacular score of 47-7, and in the following week Alhambra won their second home game against La Canada, 34-14. By the third game, the Moors seemed undefeatable after scoring 33-13 against Temple City. One major component of the success of the team is accredited to the skills they obtained from Passing League.
Though Passing League is just practice, the combination of executing on point and meeting their high expectations served as a challenging experience.
“[Passing League] prepared [me] to be quicker […] and I was able to protect the receiver better,” senior linebacker Anthony Medina said.
There were eight passing contests and one tournament which were held at various local high schools. Passing League gave the team a broader view as to what improvements they had to make. Now that football season has begun, the players will showcase their new, improved skills of passing on the field.
“We are definitely ready to succeed,” junior quarterback Josh Mendoza said.
