This year’s summer practice for the JV girls’ volleyball team was a great opportunity for them to work harder and prepare themselves for their games during the season. They have become more determined and focused in addition to their improved fundamental abilities.
Due to the remodeling of the new gym, the team had to go to Mark Keppel to practice over the summer.
“It was an inconvenience for all of us because we didn’t have a gym over the summer,” passer and outside hitter Irene Lam
said.
The team’s schedule consists of practicing five days a week from 1-3 p.m.. Additional practices involve running on the track to improve their stamina.
According to the team’s setter, Tami Pimentel, they practiced with Head Coach Charles Tran rather than their regular JV coach Tiffany Huang who could not make it due to scheduling conflicts.
Furthermore, the girls are respectful to each other; they have come to work together as a team.
“We are dedicated to volleyball and always support each other,” Pimentel said.
