With the season coming quick, that means new players, a new season, and a new coaching plan for the boys’ JV water polo team. Optimism is in the water and expectations are high for good reason. With the varsity team making CIF last year, the JV team wants to prove they are ready to play and keep their eye on the ball with hopes to make the Varsity team. They want to make it a solid sport all around, become well-known and get more fans.

“The team consists of almost all new players so considering that, I expect no more than
hard work to try to learn the game. Win or lose, the kids have exceeded my expectations when it
comes to giving the game their all. I expect everyone to improve more than they already have to
ultimately get some league wins,” JV head coach Vanessa said.

With the JV team being practically a brand new team coach Vanessa has expressed excitement
with the team exceeding her own expectations. With that, she now has newfound
expectations and expects nothing but hard work day in and day out. She hopes they can follow the
plan they have set for the season and pick up some league wins.

“I expect the team to do its best in every game,” sophomore Gabriel Garcia said.
Trying to follow the formula the coach has put, the team wants to continue to work hard no
matter what happens and pick up some wins. They want to not only prepare well for games but to get better as
players in hopes to move on to the Varsity team and continue on and thrive as a player.
Their next game is against rival Mark Keppel on Oct. 12 and against Montebello on Oct. 14.
