Spotlight: Chance Beeal

Achievements:
• Four-year member of the baseball program
• Received Captain’s Award for football in senior year
• Won 2012 Almont League title with the varsity baseball team
• Named to the Almont League second team for his performance in baseball
• Named ‘Athlete of the Week’ by Pasadena Star News in 2013
• Went undefeated 15-0 in freshman year baseball
• Four-year member of the football program


1. Why did you decide to join the baseball team?

[I decided to join] because my whole family went to Alhambra High School and played baseball there. Baseball is my true passion, it’s a sport I love.

2. What is your fondest moment in high school baseball?
[My fondest moment in high school baseball is] making it to Dodger Stadium [for CIF] last year. When [I was] young and [I] grew up watching the Dodgers play at Dodger Stadium, [I] always wanted to play there because it has a certain mystique to it.

3. How has baseball made an impact on your life?
It’s made me a better person and it’s taught me to look [at] life in a different perspective.

4. . Do you have any advice for underclassmen in the baseball program?
Always keep your head up and strive for success.

5. What are your plans for the future?
I’m going to East Los Angeles College after high school and I’m going to [continue] play[ing] baseball, then transfer to Rio Hondo Community College and join the Fire Academy..
