The Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins have agreed on a three team trade deal that will send Mookie Betts and David Price to Los Angeles. In return, the Red Sox will have Alex Verdugo from the Dodgers and Brusdar Graterol from the Twins. Minnesota will get Kenta Maeda from the Dodgers.

According to Bleacher Report the trade has been slightly altered between the Dodgers and the Red Sox due to Graterol’s medical report. The Dodgers will still add Betts and Price to their rosters, but they will also trade Jeter Downs and Connor Wong to the Red Sox. The Red Sox will also pay $48 million to cover some of Price’s remaining $96 million contract. Still, it is predicted to be a favorable trade for the Dodgers.

Many believe that this trade will provide the Dodgers with an even greater chance to reach the World Series for the third time in four years, and a shot at winning their first championship since 1988. Dodger fans on campus are very excited about the new acquisitions.

“I’m really excited about having Betts and I think Price is going to pitch really well also. I can’t wait for the new season to start,” senior Gerardo Luna said.

Betts is also eligible to become a free agent next offseason. Some have begun to speculate whether the Dodgers will try to keep him on contract and whether it will work or not. Dodger fans hope to resign the former MVP.
