Homecoming Theme Seeks to Convey New Hollywood

On Oct. 4, ASB presented the theme for Homecoming at the quad during lunch. This year’s Homecoming theme is “Falling In La La Love,” which is based on the Hollywood film, “La La Land.”

“[We wanted] a musical type of theme that takes place in newer Hollywood,” ASB President Sophia Olmeda said. “We did not want to repeat something that had been done before.”

The dance will be in the gym on Oct. 26 from 7 until 11 p.m. Tickets to the dance are selling at the Student Bank. Prices start at $12 and end at $25 at the door. Students must turn in a dance contract before purchasing tickets.

Starting this year, dance contracts no longer have a GPA requirement, which had long been in place for dances in the past. Students used to have to have a 2.0 GPA in order to attend these events but now the grade requirement is gone.

Dance contracts are available in the Student Employee Welfare Office. The last day to turn in dance contracts is Oct. 21 at 3:00 p.m.
