Due to the heat wave in California, the girls golf team’s first match was cancelled on Sept. 12. Still, the team is continuing to constructively move toward their next match. The players have been practicing daily at Almansor Park to improve their technique.

“The girls have been working hard toward the new season and are ready to go against the other teams,” Captain Analy Hidalgo said.

Preseason is often a time for hard work and the building of sportsmanship for a team. The Lady Moors believe that the key to a great game starts at the core of a team’s relationship.

The team has improved compared to with recent scores against South Pasadena and Rowland high school, compared to last season because of the new outlook on their team relationship.

“It is important to get to know how eachother plays golf, but also to know each other personally,” Hidalgo said.

The new recruits plan to strengthen the overall force of the team by working on team chemistry. This is usually a very important part of preseason.   The team has high hopes for success this year.

“I am very confident that we are going to do well this season because of the new talent I have seen in this team” Coach  Peter Dodosh said.

Their next game is on Sept. 28  against San Gabriel High School.
