Girls’ League Presents… Winter Ball 2010

What comes to your mind when you think of the word “winter”? Events like Christmas and New Year or Hanukkah and winter break—maybe even the cold weather come to mind. With the season just around the corner, the air is filled with excitement from the thought of two weeks off school, when students have the freedom to relax and hopefully not stress out about assignments. To add to this anticipation, Winter Ball is just a few weeks away.

The dance will be held on Dec. 10, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the beautiful Calamigos Equestrian Ranch serving as the venue for the formal dance. The Ranch is situated within the historic Griffith Park in Los Angeles; with over seventy-five landscaped fields and Sycamore trees. It is an ideal place for events ranging from weddings to fundraisers to school dances. There are separate ballrooms for outdoor gardens with water features. To add to the elegance and warmth of the event, grilled chicken quesadilla slices, make-your-own sandwiches, and salad and dessert bars will be available to attendees. Desserts will include a variety of choices, from chocolate truffles to lemon squares and caramel pecan triangles. Continuing the Winter Ball tradition, five couples will be crowned the princes and princesses of the ball. The voting process which determined the king and queen was held from Nov.8 through Nov. 12. With a glimpse of what is in store for them at this year’s Winter Ball, students are guaranteed an unforgettable night full of memories.
