The water polo season coming to an end means that questions begin to pop up out of the water, about CIF and how the team is doing in general.

“The team is doing good, and they’re improving every game. The chemistry is starting to really show. Also, we need to improve the freshmen and JV because they will be coming up to varsity next season,” Head Coach Fabian said.
With the team becoming better every game, the varsity team is beginning to become a threat to rival team Mark Keppel. After coming off a win against Bell Gardens, our Moors look to go 2-2 in league in order to qualify for CIF. According to Fabian, they now have a better team than the team that started the season, with the team getting better on both sides with defense and offense.

With nine seniors on the team, there are many open spots for next year’s team; Coach Fabian will work with the JV team to prepare them for the varsity level.

“As the season went along, we each developed different parts of our games such as shooting and defense. Coming off our win against Bell Gardens, I think the team has a relatively high chance of making CIF,” wing player Eric Huang said.

As Fabian said, chemistry is a big factor in working together and knowing each others’ weaknesses. With a great opportunity to make CIF with one more win, the team is pushing to keep their season alive.

“We have learned to talk more as a unt. We are more intense and we never quite reach satisfaction. We will obviously be nervous [for the game], but I know if we stick together as a team, nothing will be able to stop us,” goalkeeper Patrick Perez said.

Their league record is now 1-2 but they are still very much in it as they hope to finish strong.
