Bullying has been a big issue for a long time and for National Bullying Prevention Month this October, we are going to bring awareness to this problem. Over the years, new methods of bullying surfaced, such as cyberbullying, and bullying is still very a serious issue. According to PACER CENTER, a parent training and information center, 19.6 percent of high school students in the United States report having been bullied. Bullying can lead to many problems, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trust issues and even suicidal thoughts. During the month of October, many events and activities will be held across the nation. Activities, such as the Above the Line or Below the Line, help educate students on what to do and what not to do in order to prevent bullying. These events and activities are made not to only help raise awareness for bullying prevention, but also to help people understand how to stop bullying.
