Introduction: Up for the Challenge: Preparing for the SAT

The SAT is designed to help colleges and universities identify students who could succeed at their institutions. Each year, more than two million students take the SAT. As a globally recognized college admission test, the SAT is the first step toward higher education for students of all backgrounds. However, SAT testing has never been static. Over the years, the test has progressed alongside the educational standards of colleges and universities while still incorporating the information stressed by American high schools.
