With ten games left in their season, 13 JV softball players are working diligently alongside the varsity girls, pushing through their season. The girls currently hold an overall record of four wins and three losses.

“I am proud to be on this team with such amazing girls, we have such an unbreakable bond. Everyone brings a little piece of their talent to make one awesome team,” sophomore pitcher Natalie Joyce said.

The team’s goal this season is to win as many games as possible and become closer as a team. The girls agree that a team needs trust and communication, so they work hard during practices to achieve their goals. The athletes are learning to trust each other and they all believe that every girl on the team puts in their best effort on and off the field.

The girls practice every day, excluding game days and weekends, for two hours. As a team, the athletes condition and work on their pitching and batting fundamentals. They also practice with infielder and outfielder drills. Sometimes the team has scrimmage games against the varsity team. The players build off their strengths and learn from their weaknesses from previous games.

The girls won their most recent game on March 31 against Pioneer High School at Moor Field, with a score of 11-1. Their next game is on Tuesday, April 7, against Mark Keppel High School.
