REJOICE IN YOUR VOICE

As the two soley student-run publications on campus, The Moor Weekly and The Alhambran are important resources for the students of AHS.

Originally a weekly publication, newspaper had transitioned to biweekly and has reverted back to weekly. As the students’ voice, the newspaper staff is composed of dedicated writers and artists who share a common goal to exercise their first amendment rights.

“My goal is to express the opinions of the majority of the school whether it’s criticism or praising certain things of how the students feel,” newspaper staff writer Simeon Lam said.

The Alhambran, on the other hand, gives students a sense of community and unites them through school pride.

“Along with the rest of the staff, I am always trying to cover as many students as possible and have equal representation. We want everyone to be included because the yearbook documents all the great memories of the year so people can look back on it later in life,” yearbook Co-Editor-in-Chief Stephanie Han said.

Although both are distinctively different, The Moor Weekly and The Alhambran both serve as the students’ voices. Without these published works, student opinions would have no voice and graduates would have no memories to look back on.
