It has become a tradition for the Boys’ Federation Board to hold their annual car show to showcase a variety of unique automobiles from the student body and the surrounding car dealerships from the community.
They do not profit from this event: it is a chance for students to bring out their cars and show off what makes their cars special.
“I [really enjoy] the fact that anyone can enter any car they would like; it doesn’t have to be new or fast because there are over ten different categories you can enter under,” Vice President Anna Wu said. “[With so many categories,] there’s bound to be a category that is fit for every car!”
Because there are many varieties of cars, there are different contests which participants can enter. Some of the categories include interior, most eco-friendly, domestic, import, sound system, best customized, best original stock and best overall.
“We encourage people to enter because we want them to have an opportunity to display [unique] models and styles of cars,” Boys’ Fed Vice President Alex Wang said. “Through the show, we also hope to [involve the community] and help car dealerships advertise different models entered.”
The show is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 27, from 12-1:30 p.m. in the area formerly occupied by the bungalows. There is an entry fee of five dollars for every category, but all fees collected are used towards purchasing prizes for the winners.
All who participate will be given an air freshener and winners will receive gas cards and gift cards as prizes.
“[The great thing is] because each car can be entered into multiple categories, there are more chances for participants to win,” Wang said.
