On Jan. 24, football free agent Antonio Brown was released from house arrest by a judge in Florida. He was allowed to remove his ankle monitor and will be required to check in with the court personnel daily. The judge allowed him to travel freely within the United States in order to fulfill his contract with ESPN and Kevin Hart.

His $110,000 bail remains in place, he must surrender his passport, possess no weapons or ammunition ,  submit to a mental health evaluation and random drug testing.

He was charged by the police with burglary with battery, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and criminal mischief. The Hollywood Police Department responded on Jan. 21 to a call where the truck driver said Brown and his trainer, Glenn Holt, hit him outside Brown’s Hollywood home. The driver also claimed they destroyed packages that he was carrying. Brown verbally abused the officers that came to arrest him, but later turned himself in when they issued a warrant for his arrest.

“I really can’t believe a professional athlete would throw their life away so quickly. It really makes you question the mental health of Antonio Brown. Hopefully he can get well soon,” Senior Alex Roldan said.

Brown had been charged with sexual assault in Sept. 2019, and is still under investigation for it. He was released from the New England Patriots but plans to return to the NFL as a free agent for the upcoming season.
