Stop and Pause

Aishani Sellathurai

Hey guys! As your fellow student, I just wanted to remind you to lift each other up, especially now. It is the beginning of the school year where every senior is rushing to work on their college apps. Just the other day when I was walking down the hallways I heard this individual spout, “You are just a photographer, it’s not like you do much anyways.” I am sure most of you guys would think nothing of this but the person being accused of not doing much is probably feeling horrible because their efforts were not recognized by their friends.

I do not understand why people feel like it would make them feel better if they were to insult another person. If you are one of them, stop! In what way is this benefitting you or the other person? The world does not just revolve around you your actions affect the people around you.  It is the lack of gratitude that rips away a student’s motivation to do anything.

So take your time, finish your college apps and be kind. It only takes a few moments to reflect on your treatment of others. Our society is a fast paced one and we are all busy, but we should all take the time to enjoy life. Good luck, I believe in all of you. You are appreciated.
