On Sept. 27, the junior varsity boys water polo team competed in a non-conference home game against El Modena. Alhambra High had high hopes of winning the game. Despite their best efforts, the Moors lost to El Modena with a score of 7-17. Although the team’s season has not been the best score-wise, they are making an effort to improve and better their skills.

“So far our season has been statistically disheartening, but all in all our spirits are high and we are thoroughly proud of the fight we’ve done, and will continue to do and improve,” freshman Captain Mark Munson said. “We’re aware that we’re not going to be winning any awards or special recognition, but we are working for ourselves, and those we aim to make proud of our improvements.”

The team takes feedback head on, despite their tough reputation among themselves. “We take the criticism head on, trying to build upon it,” Munson said. We hope to use this game to further improve ourselves, especially for the four league games coming up.” The Alhambra High junior varsity boys water polo team will compete in their next game on Tuesday, Oct. 9 against Schurr High School.
