Boys Water Polo Rebuild for Season

The Boy’s water polo team is hopeful this season as they look to have a successful and fun year ahead of them. With a few non-conference games under their belt, the Moors continue to progress through each week and are staying positive. Although starting off 0-9 overall, they are feeling confident in their performance altogether and are continually improving.

“I feel really good about this season, our team really meshes well together, and we all have one goal in mind and that’s to win,” said senior Captain Jude Timbre.

The Moors recently played against Arcadia on Tuesday, Sept. 11, in which the result was a 9-1 loss. The team’s record may show a lack of success in terms of statistics, but the improvement can be felt by the players throughout each week.

“Some ways that we as a team are looking to improve is the way that we communicate in the pool,” Timbre said.

With not as many players returning, the ones that have played in previous years have a greater responsibility in mentoring and helping out their new teammates.

“I’m hoping to improve with my leadership, taking control of the team more and to lead by example” said senior Joshua Alday.

The team’s next game is on Sept. 20 against Sierra Vista.
