Varsity Boys Water Polo Lose With Pride

The Moors are having a tough season against surrounding schools, but are always trying their best during the game. The boys water polo team lost their away game on Thursday, Sept. 25 against Glendale High school by a score of 23-3.
“We have had a rough start,but I believe in my team’s ability to come back and defeat our opponents,” Captain Maximilian’s Fernandez said.
The game took place at Glendale High School. Eager for a win, the moors
came ready with a the game plan to win. The first quarter was quiet and the teams started to
kick in full speed toward the opposing goals. Within the middle of the second quarter, Glendale had scored four points. From then on the Moors attempted to score, but the other team kept the game at a hault. As the third quarter came by, the scoreboard read 5-2 and with time
the Moors scored again. But there was not enough time for the Moors to come back and win the game.
The boys have suffered many losses this season including;Pasadena, Burbank, Baldwin Park and Glendale due to the new skill brought from other schools. Still the team works hard in order to be prepared for any obstacles they may encounter during the game.
“We usually start with a chant before the game to get us ready,” player Noah Partida said [Also] We have practiced really hard, with a ton of conditioning.”
The next scheduled game for the varsity boys water polo will be Oct. 18 at Bell Gardens High School.
