This year, the Homecoming festivities began with a rally held at the gym on Sept. 27. After a performance by All Male and a brief teaser video, the Homecoming theme was revealed to be Wish Upon a Lantern.
Beginning Sept. 23, students were able to purchase the dance tickets at the student bank. During the first week, the tickets were $12 with and without the ASB card. During the week of Homecoming, the tickets were $22 without the ASB card and $20 with the ASB card.
The nomination for Homecoming Court began on Sept. 23. The deadline for students to nominate their class Homecoming princes and princesses was Sept. 27.
For Homecoming proposals, students were able to request ASB to help make their poster. The base price for one poster was $7 with every 2ft added costing $3. Students also had the option of purchasing add-ons such as glitter for $2, drawings for $1 and color for $1.
On Oct. 3, the Homecoming color palette was revealed via Instagram. The color palette for the dance attire included gothel red, champagne blonde, royal blue, sage green, lantern gold and lavender purple.
During the week of Homecoming, students participated in the Homecoming spirit week to show school spirit. The dress up days were I’ve Got a Dream Monday, Floral Tuesday, bring Your Pascal Wednesday, Disney Thursday as well as Blue and Gold Friday.
The day before the Homecoming dance, several festivities took place. At the Homecoming parade, students marched with their clubs from 4th street to Moor Field.
After the parade, students supported several clubs by attending the Homecoming carnival. Clubs that sold food and drinks included ASB, Dance, ALP, AFE, FBLA, Artist Anonymous, ACA, Computer science, Speech & Debate, Yearbook, MESA, 3D Modeling, Folklorico and Creative Concepts.
At last, the Homecoming game began. The Moors played against the San Gabriel Matadors. During the halftime show, seniors Lucas Fuentes and Aliya Chaffino-Kirby were announced as Homecoming King and Queen. The Moors lost with a final score of 32 to 11.
Finally, the Homecoming dance took place on Oct. 27 and was held at the Quad. The dance began at 7 p.m. As students danced, several clubs sold food and drinks.
“I liked all the food that was provided during the dance, my favorite being the mango sorbet,” freshman Ashley Quach said.
During the dance, students were also able to take photos at a photo booth which were then developed into photo strips.
“I think that the Homecoming dance was okay, but I feel like not many people actually danced, lots of people only waited in line to take pictures,” senior Caressa Cong said.
After an eventful night of dancing, eating and conversing, the dance concluded at 10 p.m.
