The Alhambra High School Junior Varsity softball team has just begun the second half of their season with a record of one win and two losses, losing to schools Schurr and Montebello High, two large competitors in softball. The Lady Moors have made great improvements this season upon their attitude when making mistakes during games. They are also steadily improving communication as a team as well as offensive hitting.

Alhambra High’s softball team is also readily looking ahead toward league this season. The team is constantly practicing batting and scoring offensively and fielding defensively to be in peak condition when the league competition arrives.

“When it comes to league, we plan to play our hardest and to be more aggressive both on defense and on offense,” JV second baseman Trista Adair said.

The softball team has been slowly but surely getting into better condition for the next half of the season and have high expectations to do very well in league. But while they prepare for league they also must prepare for games against upcoming local teams such as the Mark Keppel Aztecs and San Gabriel Matadors.

“Our goals this season are to win league, come together as a fully functioning team and be in peak condition to do our very best this year as well the years to come,” JV left fielder Arlene Contreras said.

With an extensive year of practice and enough commitment, the Lady Moor’s have very high chances of succeeding in both the main season as well as in the league competition.
