Aligning with Online Preschools

The era of online schooling has been steadily evolving over the years, according to US News. Various online preschools that currently exist include ABC Mouse and CHALK Preschool Online. Their subscription prices are $7.95 and $11.95 per month, respectively.

Studies have shown that the effect of online preschools can be both beneficial and detrimental to toddlers. Attending an online preschool could help early brain development, but it could also cause dependence on digital devices which would lead to a lack of three-dimensional concepts, such as those found in building blocks, according to professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences Dr. Gary Small on Marketplace.

In addition, some people believe online preschools could help in providing better quality education for families with toddlers who do not go to traditional preschools.

“It is hard to try and come up with a curriculum, so that’s why I really like the online preschool because it does take a lot of the pressure off of me,” mother of three Monique Hurtado said, according to Marketplace.

However, some students agreed that having an online preschool environment at an early age could lead to lack of social skill development.

“Although it may be financially helpful, online preschools won’t provide the ideal learning environment a traditional one would,” sophomore Alina Cortez said.
