National Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity for Americans to recognize the contributions made by Hispanic American citizens as well as to appreciate their culture and importance. From Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, American citizens pay tribute to influential Hispanic Americans. This event is acknowledged by a various amount of groups, from the president to small organizations, such as AHS’ very own Latin American Student Organization (LASO). Though the month is dedicated to those of Hispanic heritage, the celebration allows all Americans to recognize the accomplishments Hispanics have made throughout history.
